Niet een kapotte Zamboni maar twee levert afgelasting op

De eerste halve finale wedstrijd tussen Liège en Diez in de BeNe League werd een deceptie in het Mediacite. Op vrijdag was de Zamboni van Liège kapot gegaan en men huurde de Zamboni uit Leuven. Helaas pindakaas die deed het ook niet meer.

Halverwege de dweilpauze voor de warmups stopte de Zamboni er al mee. Maar het lukte om die nog aangeduwd te krijgen. Maar met het vastlopen had die al twee gaten gemaakt in het ijs.

Voor de spelers, staf en supporters werd het een afgelasting nadat de Zamboni niet meer wilde herstarten.

Wat houdt dat in voor de wedstrijd? Want er is geen ruimte in de agenda om een eventuele derde wedstrijd te spelen. De BeNe League reageerde gisteravond nog.

” The first PO game between Liège and Diez was cancelled because of non-functional Zambonis. Tonight the BNL board decided how to go on with the series. All games should end with a winner and a losing team. When needed with OT and SO’s like in the regular competition.

1. The first game will be played on Sunday 17^th of March in Diez. Winner gets 1 point.
2. The second game will be played on Tuesday the 19^th in Liège. Winner gets 1 point.
3. The team that wins both games will play the final series.
4. If both teams did win a game a third game will be necessary. However: Because there is no new date available, a 20 minute period will be played directly after the second game. This will be counted as third game. To have a winner OT and SO’s may be needed.

 This is the decision of the Board and is final.”

Nu maar hopen dat Liège voor dinsdag een functionerende Zamboni kan regelen.
